Ken Kerr has over 30 years experience in residential construction and 18 years in Geothermal heating. As a residential builder he was approached by a client in 1991 and asked to work with him to build a home. He wanted to install his own geothermal heating system. At the time, Ken knew nothing about Geothermal but wanted to do whatever he could to meet the client's needs. This client was a heating and cooling engineer so knew the benefits of geothermal. Other builders had told him that geothermal wouldn't work here in the northeast or that air-to-air heat pumps would do the same thing. Ken started to learn about geothermal and was so fascinated by this new energy source that his company started offering this in all their new homes. In 1998 Ken separated from his construction partnership and formed Kellco Construction, continuing to do geothermal installations, taking training and becoming IGSHPA accredited. In 2008 Ken saw the need to get more HVAC contractors involved and to help them do installations correctly. In 2009 Greenteam Geothermal was formed to do complete installations and/or work with other contractors to do their loops and help them with their installations.
